about

Elisabeth Cols is an artist with a passion for painting. After studying art in France, and earning a master’s degree in painting from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, she recently completed a diploma as a decor and set painter at the Van Der Kelen Institute.
Traditional painting techniques are at the heart of her skills and interests. This artist has an almost scientific knowledge of painting, using ancient painting techniques such as rabbit-skin glue, casein, tempera, Swedish paint, and oil, which she prepares herself and developped her own recepies. These methods fascinate her for their ecological and sustainable qualities, as well as their unmatched aesthetic potential compared to industrial paints.
Cols’s artistic background leads her to create various types of sets, from artistic installations to theater backdrops and funny furniture. With an engineer’s mindset and many years of hands-on experience, she has developed strong skills in bringing both imaginative and technical projects to life.
